位於美國中西部民風極為保守純樸的小岩鎮，一度被視為美式哥德搖滾最終的復活聖地。
或許是因為Ben Moody與Amy Lee以其帶有激進性格的音樂特色，奮力穿越至音樂光譜
中黑暗的那一頭的多分努力，造就了此類音樂更形折衷且更易為大眾所接受的主因。 

伊凡塞斯在探討黑暗、愛情與絕望等人性議題上，亦有他們柔性的訴求，但他們堅持的是一個真實存在的原則，絕非抽象。「整張專輯的概念是要讓人們相信，在所有悲傷，痛苦與生命高低起伏的過程中，沒有人是寂寞的。」

儘管團名會讓人聯想到"忽然消失"這個名詞，但來自阿肯色州小岩城的「伊凡塞斯 Evanescence」，
他們的音樂可不是軟腳蝦。
在嗓音超獨特的女主唱Amy Lee領軍下，這才華洋溢的四人組合之首張專輯「落入凡間 Fallen」，是一張充滿情感，卻又靈性飄逸的作品。
這位現年才二十歲的女主唱說：我們絕對是一個搖滾團，但不一樣的是，我們的音樂是擁有史詩般戲劇化的「黑暗搖滾」。

反而有種覺醒的意義

比較之下我會比較喜歡他們第一張Fallen
他們在MV中營造出來的鬼魅氣氛相當成功
不曉得為什麼,主唱Amy的聲音,好像從地獄來的,很深沈很空靈
